How to Open a PayPal Account?
PayPal is a fast, secure online service that allows you to send and receive money online. It can sometimes be the best way to purchase goods or services in a safe environment while protecting yourself from scammers. Below you will find the basics on opening an Paypal account.
Step 1: Choose the Right PayPal Account for You
To begin with go to www.PayPal.com. Then click on 'sign up now'. You will be given the choice of three different types of Paypal account to sign up to.
You can choose the Personal Account which is ideal for shopping online. It's free, secure, and a fast way to send payments. You can also accept bank account or PayPal balance-funded payments for free and a limited number of credit or debit card payments per year for a low fee.
You could select the Premier Account which is good for both buying and selling. It allows you to make secure payments on eBay and merchant websites. It also accepts credit card, debit card, and bank account payments for low fees.

As a general web user, you're probably going to want to start with the basic personal account for everyday web purchases. So select the country you live in, and select 'personal account' and click 'continue on the bottom right of the screen.
Step 2: Sign up
You will now need to enter your personal information - such as your name, address, telephone numbers, and email address. You'll also need to enter a password, to confirm your password, choose two security questions to help you remember it along with appropriate answers. Then read the user agreement and confirm 'yes' if you are happy to continue. Then enter the characters in the security key and click 'sign up'.
Step 3: Confirm Email Address
You will be taken to a screen that tells you to confirm your email address. To do this, go to your email account. In your inbox there will be an email from PayPal containing a link. Click on that link. Now enter your password to confirm your email address. Once confirmed, click on 'continue'.
Step 4: Activate your phone
PayPal now gives you the option to activate your phone to allow you to send money and make payments from your PayPal account. To do so click on 'activate your phone'. Then, to activate your phone for secure mobile payments, enter a mobile PIN, and re-enter it. Then click 'call me now' and PayPal will ring you to confirm that it is your phone, and help you finish activating it.
Step 5: Confirm Account
If you don't want to activate your phone, simply go back to the email confirmation screen, enter your password and click 'confirm'. You will PayPal account is now open.
